MIB announces guest house awards

The Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has successfully concluded its Guesthouse Symposium, during which the newly established Guesthouse Awards for 2026 were unveiled.

MIB Chief Retail Officer, Hussain Alim Shakoor, highlighted that the awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with next year’s symposium. He emphasized that the awards aim to recognize excellence in the guesthouse sector.

In a first for the event, the management and organization of the awards have been entrusted entirely to independent audit firm Crowe Maldives. This includes overseeing the awards’ structure and the selection of judges.

Hassan Mohamed, Managing Partner at Crowe Maldives, highlighted that the awards will be distinct in their approach, as they will have no sponsors. “We will ensure that the Guesthouse Awards go solely to the most deserving recipients,” he said.
