In a move to celebrate excellence in the local hospitality sector, Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) has unveiled a special awards programme to recognise outstanding contributors to the country’s thriving guesthouse industry.
The awards will be presented at the inaugural MIB Guesthouse Symposium in October, spotlighting businesses and individuals who are driving innovation, promoting sustainability, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
The programme is structured around three key categories. The Guesthouse Awards comprise eight accolades, including the Service Excellence and Hospitality Award, Authentic Maldivian Experience Award, and Eco-Friendly Award, among others. In addition, three Individual Awards will honour exceptional professionals, such as recipients of the Guest Experience Champion Award and the Outstanding Dive Leader Award. A single Island Award will also be presented, recognising an island community for its contribution to the growth and development of the guesthouse sector.
Crowe Maldives, a renowned firm specialising in audit and advisory services, has been appointed to oversee the administration of the awards. Under the agreement, Crowe Maldives will manage the nomination process, judge selection, and overall evaluations.
Applications will open on 15 July. Eligible candidates may apply via MIB’s online portal, with detailed award criteria available on the bank’s official website.
